Appointment of Rector of Da Nang University of Medical Technology and Pharmacy

On the morning of July 10, 2026, Da Nang University of Medical Technology and Pharmacy solemnly held a conference to announce and present the decision of the Ministry of Health appointing the Rector of the University.

The conference was attended by leaders of the Ministry of Health, leaders of Da Nang City, representatives of agencies under the Ministry of Health, local government departments and agencies, central and local hospitals, educational institutions, domestic and international partners, as well as all the University's officials, employees, and faculty members.

At the conference, a representative of the Department of Personnel and Organization under the Ministry of Health announced Decision No. 2028/QD-BYT dated July 6, 2026, issued by the Minister of Health, appointing Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Thi Thuy as Rector of Da Nang University of Medical Technology and Pharmacy.

On behalf of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Vu Manh Ha, Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee and Permanent Deputy Minister of Health, presented the appointment decision and assigned official responsibilities to the newly appointed Rector. He encouraged the University's Board of Management and the entire institution to continue innovating university governance, effectively utilizing available resources, accelerating digital transformation, enhancing the quality of education, scientific research, and community services, while striving to develop Da Nang University of Medical Technology and Pharmacy into a prestigious higher education institution in medical and pharmaceutical sciences capable of meeting the healthcare sector's development needs in the new era.

Speaking at the conference, Dr. Nguyen Thi Anh Thi, Vice Chairwoman of the Da Nang People's Committee, congratulated Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Thi Thuy on being entrusted by the Ministry of Health with the important responsibility of serving as Rector of the University. She expressed her confidence that, under the leadership of the new Rector, the University would continue to strengthen its role as a leading center for medical and pharmaceutical education and scientific research in the Central Highlands and Central Vietnam region, while deepening its collaboration with local authorities in human resource development, scientific research, technology transfer, and healthcare services for the community.

In her inaugural remarks, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Thi Thuy expressed her sincere gratitude to the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Health, the Ministry's leadership, and the University's staff for their trust and confidence. She affirmed her commitment to fulfilling her responsibilities with dedication, building upon the achievements of previous generations of leaders, and working together with the University's officials, employees, faculty members, and students to foster a democratic, professional, and innovative academic environment. She also emphasized the importance of advancing university autonomy, strengthening cooperation with educational institutions, hospitals, and domestic and international partners, and pursuing the University's sustainable development and global integration.

The conference announcing and presenting the appointment decision for the University Rector marks an important milestone in the development of Da Nang University of Medical Technology and Pharmacy. It contributes to strengthening the University's leadership structure and meeting the requirements for higher education governance reform in accordance with Resolution No. 71-NQ/TW dated August 22, 2025, issued by the Politburo on breakthroughs in education and training development, as well as the 2025 Law on Higher Education. The appointment also provides a solid foundation for the University to effectively implement its development strategy, enhance the quality of education, promote scientific research, foster innovation and international integration, and further affirm its position as a higher education institution dedicated to training high-quality healthcare professionals to meet the development needs of Vietnam's healthcare sector and the country in the new era.
