Scientific Seminar Series on Pharmaceutical Sciences and Healthcare

On May 11, 2026, the Faculty of Pharmacy, Da Nang University of Medical Technology and Pharmacy (DUMTP), successfully organized two scientific seminars at Lecture Hall 402, Campus 2, with the participation of faculty members and students interested in pharmaceutical sciences and healthcare.

Seminar 1: Green Chemistry Applications in Pharmaceutical Synthesis

This seminar provided participants with valuable insights into the application of green chemistry principles in contemporary pharmaceutical research and synthesis. The presentation highlighted approaches to minimizing the use of hazardous solvents, improving reaction efficiency, and developing environmentally sustainable synthesis processes, thereby contributing to the advancement of a greener and more sustainable pharmaceutical industry.

Seminar 2: Updates on Asthma Treatment and Management Strategies Based on GINA 2025

The afternoon seminar focused on important updates from the Global Initiative for Asthma (GINA) 2025 guidelines regarding asthma treatment and management. The presentation introduced emerging therapeutic strategies and emphasized the importance of personalized treatment approaches to improve disease control and enhance patients’ quality of life.

The seminar series provided a vibrant academic platform for knowledge sharing and scholarly discussion among faculty members and students. These activities contributed to updating professional knowledge, strengthening research capacity, and enhancing educational and professional competencies within the Faculty of Pharmacy.

Seminar 3. Scientific Seminar on Updates to the Pharmacy Law and Related Implementing Regulations

On the morning of May 14, 2026, the Faculty of Pharmacy, Da Nang University of Medical Technology and Pharmacy (DUMTP), organized a scientific seminar at Lecture Hall 402, Campus 2. The seminar was delivered by Specialist Level II Pharmacist Le Huong Ly.

Entitled “Updates on the Pharmacy Law and Decrees Detailing and Guiding the Implementation of the Pharmacy Law,” the seminar provided participants with important updates on recent regulatory developments in the pharmaceutical sector. The presentation covered key provisions of the Pharmacy Law and related implementing regulations, highlighting their implications for pharmaceutical practice, education, and professional responsibilities.

The seminar also served as a valuable platform for faculty members and students to exchange ideas and discuss practical issues related to pharmaceutical legislation and regulatory compliance.

RECAP | Faculty of Pharmacy Co-organizes Scientific Research Training Workshop

On the afternoon of May 27, 2026, at the Conference Hall of Da Nang Traditional Medicine Hospital, the Faculty of Pharmacy, Da Nang University of Medical Technology and Pharmacy (DUMTP), in collaboration with the Hospital, organized a scientific research training workshop. The event was attended by representatives of the leadership of both institutions, together with academic staff, researchers, and healthcare professionals.

Representing Da Nang University of Medical Technology and Pharmacy were:

• Dr. Nguyen Minh Son, Vice Rector
• Dr. Nguyen Thi Nam Phong, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy
• Dr. Pham Duc Thang and Dr. Huynh Huu Bon, Vice Deans of the Faculty of Pharmacy
• MSc. Tran Thi Diep Ha, Head of the Public Health Faculty
• MSc. Cao Bich Thuy, Vice Head of the Office of Science Management, Technology and International Cooperation
• Representatives of academic departments from the Faculty of Pharmacy and the Faculty of Public Health

During the workshop, representatives of the Faculty of Pharmacy and Da Nang Traditional Medicine Hospital discussed potential directions for future collaborative research initiatives and academic partnerships between the two institutions.

The training programme featured two practical and highly relevant scientific sessions:

• “Evidence-Based Traditional Medicine: Data Analysis and Scientific Writing from Clinical Research”, presented by Dr. Tran Dinh Trung.
• “Scientific Report and Manuscript Writing Skills”, presented by Dr. Van Pham Kim Thuong, Lecturer of the Faculty of Pharmacy.

The workshop contributed to strengthening research capacity, promoting scientific publication activities, and enhancing professional and research collaboration between the Faculty of Pharmacy, Da Nang University of Medical Technology and Pharmacy, and Da Nang Traditional Medicine Hospital.

3. Workshop on Structure-Based Drug Design: A New Frontier in Target-Oriented Drug Discovery

On November 14 2025, the Faculty of Pharmacy, Da Nang University of Medical Technology and Pharmacy (DUMTP), in collaboration with the P.I.C Academic and Career Orientation Club, successfully organized the workshop entitled “Structure-Based Drug Design: A New Frontier in Target-Oriented Drug Discovery.” The event attracted enthusiastic participation from faculty members and pharmacy students.

The workshop provided participants with an opportunity to gain insights into contemporary approaches to drug design and development while fostering an academic environment for discussion, knowledge exchange, and scientific inquiry. Through the programme, students enhanced their understanding of the principles and applications of structure-based drug design in the discovery and development of novel therapeutic agents.

The Faculty of Pharmacy would like to express its sincere appreciation to Pharm.D. Tran Que Huong for sharing valuable expertise and practical experience in this emerging field. We also extend our gratitude to all faculty members and students for their active engagement, meaningful discussions, and contributions to the success of the event.

4. The Faculty of Pharmacy Implements Digital Transformation, Science and Technology Development, and Innovation Initiatives

In recent years, the Faculty of Pharmacy has actively implemented and operationalized the institutional agenda on digital transformation, science and technology development, and innovation in alignment with the University's strategic directions and the evolving needs of the healthcare and pharmaceutical sectors.

The Faculty has progressively integrated digital technologies into academic administration, teaching and learning activities, and student assessment processes. The adoption of digital platforms, learning management systems, and educational data resources has enhanced operational efficiency, transparency, and connectivity across academic activities.

Furthermore, teaching and learning innovations have been closely associated with the application of information technology, digital learning resources, and modern educational tools. These initiatives have contributed to improving educational quality, strengthening student engagement, and enriching the overall learning experience. Through continuous innovation and digital transformation, the Faculty aims to enhance its academic effectiveness and prepare graduates with the competencies required in the rapidly evolving pharmaceutical profession.

In parallel with its digital transformation efforts, the Faculty of Pharmacy places strong emphasis on the advancement of science and technology and the promotion of innovation in research and professional practice. Research activities are strategically oriented toward emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, biotechnology, advanced pharmaceutical formulation technologies, and medicinal plant research, with the aim of enhancing both the quality of scientific publications and the practical applicability of research outcomes.

The Faculty actively encourages academic staff and students to engage in applied research projects, academic competitions, innovation and entrepreneurship initiatives, and interdisciplinary collaborations.
