The current Faculty of Rehabilitation originated as the Department of Physiotherapy/Rehabilitation under the Central Medical Technology Secondary School II, which was established in September 1980 with only two lecturers. It is one of the departments belonging to the three oldest institutions providing education in Health Sciences in Vietnam under the direct administration of the Ministry of Health.
Throughout the institution's development, the Faculty of Rehabilitation has maintained its integral position within the organizational structure, even as the school was successively renamed through various stages:
